Even as a kid, I hated them but I was a huge glutton for shitty TV.  My days during summer vacation would consist of Jerry Springer, then Jenny Jones, then Ricki Lake,  then The Disney Afternoon, and then it was time for syndicated Family Matters and Step by Step!

Step by Step was a really bad show but my first TV crush was Christine Lakin's character.

All this TV nostalgia reminds me of how much TV I watched as a kid, despite knowing even then that it was not good.  Between the TGIF slate, Saved by the Bell, and Fresh Prince, I don't want to think how many total hours I'll never get back.
