PC bore, assemble! Need a new keyboard
« on: November 26, 2012, 02:30:50 PM »
With Diablo 3 in mind, for the most part.  I need something that can stand up to me hammering the shit out of some of the keys to spam tornadoes and shit.  Anybody got some decent recommendations?  I probably wouldn't be buying it for a couple of weeks (so deals aren't my main focus) but would rather just start looking and getting ideas now.

GET A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD

Not bad: http://steelseries.com/products/keyboards/steelseries-6gv2

I use a FILCO at home. Ducky is a decent brand, too.

Déjà vu. I'm pretty sure I recommended Logitech's UltraX Media keyboard the last time.

ive been using a MS ergo split keyboard for a while and i've gotten so used to it i dont think i would ever be able to use a regular straight keyboard ever again and not a single ergo mechanical keyboard seems to be any good.

if you're not having a tactile fingertip orgasm every time you actuate one of those sweet cherries, you might as well move to uganda, such is your quality of life. at least the rent will be cheaper.

going mechanical is like going black, if said black person has the income and appreciation of the arts to match their superior lovemaking.

I bought a LEOPOLD brown from http://elitekeyboards.com/ and love it ... basically, I would get a "real" mechanical keyboard, not a "gaming" one - I am not fond of the Blackwidow.

If you really want a gaming mechanical for whatever reason I vastly prefer the Steelseries 6GV2: http://steelseries.com/products/keyboards/steelseries-6gv2

There are a couple exceptions but most mechanical gaming keyboard are just regular keyboards.  I think the main advantage is the lower prices.  Like, cooler master keyboards go for ~$60 to $80.  And sometimes plain mechanical keyboards don't have media shortcuts or LED backlighting, if you care about that stuff.

Blackwidow, that new Logitech one, and corsair make 'gaming' keyboards with all sorts of superfluous gamer stuff.  I don't see the appeal of those.

I use a daskeyboard silent (brown).  I only replaced the caps lock key with a smaller one it's been perfect for gaming or typing or whatever.  Though, I have considered a tenkeyless one since I rarely use the number pad.

or you can buy a Mad Catz keyboard with a screen and stuff
