I love Monopoly (Board game thread)

Jonesing to play some monopoly right now for some reason  :'(


Used to play the actual board game and the NES game so much when I was a kid. I never learnt to play RISK or Cluedo and other board games  but heard it's fun. Anyone here play boardgames weekly/monthly? Used to have a regular D&D game and Monopoly game way back.

The only board game that ever consumed me was Scrabble. I was so desperate for people to play with (after I moved the first time), that I joined a local club in Cleveland. That was the oddest collection of people i have ever met in my life.

Playing online is just not the same.


I never liked Monopoly. The endgame took too long or you had bankers that were constantly cheating. Not to mention all the bizarre house rules people made with FREE PARKING, that turned the game into a lottery.

No, I worked in a store where 1/2 of our retail space was devoted to board games, I've just played way better board games than fucking monopoly.  It's awful.  I'm not saying you're awful for liking it, just that you haven't played better shit.

My wife won't allow me to play. She says umm a bad winner. In the last rolls of the game when I see someone inevitably land on my massive collection of properties I can't help but laugh uncontrollably. I'm a dick. I'm not really into board games though so maybe that's why. I always secretly hate it when a group I am with decides to play one.

I honestly havent and want to try risk, is there digital versions I could play? (kinda weird inviting my particular group of friends over for a boardgame)
