small stereo suggestion
« on: December 02, 2012, 01:46:21 PM »
So I would like to play music in my kitchen while I cook.  Currently I use my iphone or laptop to play music and you can guess that it sounds horrible.

i'd love to find a fairly good, yet inexpensive radio for the smallish room.  Bluetooth or auxillary cable would be better for me than the 30 pin connector.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Find a cricket store near you and buy a jambox. They are advertised for $49.99, normally $160 or so.

Cricket is for poor black people, if it helps. There should be plenty in the hood.

This is true, I only suggest it cause they are selling the Jambox's like they just got them off the back of a truck from queens.

Here is another suggestion if only due to its price.

I have that monster speaker and it's awesome. Small footprint and it can fill a small room with decent-to-middling quality sound.

I bring it to the beach all the time.  :)

If we had Cricket in our area I would get the Jambox, which I believe is a little larger has a little more oomph to it.

You want oomph? Get the Big Jambox that sucker is so powerful its not even funny. Its got suction cups on the bottom to make sure the fucker doesn't walk away from you. Granted the small Jambox does the same thing too.

That thing is way too big though. Its not very portable friendly, it does sound great though. We still have our old Bose station, we use from time to time. I found that the new one tended to have a dramatic drop off in quality of sound with the addition of Bluetooth.

Whoa that Jambox deal is slick, not being sold on their site though otherwise I would order a few for Christmas  :'( That Monster ClarityHD box sounds like a sweet deal though @$50 through their site.

Late on this but just wanted to mention Creative D100. Been using it with my phone and Surface and it rocks. Bluetooth and aux jack for your convenience.

It's cheap but bigger than this jambox.

Another one I read good stuff on is the Nokia Play 360 Bluetooth speaker. Slick and you might find good deals on it since it is being replaced with a new model.
