I've got nothing going on Christmas day so I'm going to treat myself to a nice bottle of liquor. Who needs human contact when you have the sweet loving embrace of hard alcohol. I haven't fucked with liquor in ages, maybe a scotch or something.

Yeah, Untappd has actually shown a couple breweries here in Osaka, and more in Kobe, but the first one it shows me is 40 minutes away. I'm just using it to be MrGundam's enabler.

Aw, that's very thoughtful. I am actually not short of beer to drink right now, and will be back in the USA next year... probably. Sometime.

In the meantime, I've got those Gordon-Biersch made ones from CostCo, and I can trek up to Minoh brewery itself for any additions.

There is also the matter of NO GOOD NIHONSHUU when I get back to the USA, so I should just enjoy that while I have access.

Oh my, that is special stuff. I've gotten the opportunity to try them all and really the delta between those and other bourbons is quite large, even the other good stuff.

They only ship out about about three times a year to stores and the supplies are ridiculously limited. Our first shipment had 1 bottle of 10 year, 2 12 year, 1 13 year rye, 1 15, 1 20, and 1 23. Second shipment, 2 10, 1 12, 1 15, and 1 20.

we probably won't see any more til around may. All bottles out the door the day they arrived.

Luckily, i was able to arrange buying the 12 and 13 rye from the first batch, and the 15 and 20 from the second. They're all pretty darn good, but the 20 is something all it's own. Has me itching to buy the 23 if i ever get an opportunity.

Oh well, maybe in may.

It was a wheaty night last evening.

Took my buddy to Uber Tavern and had Boneyard's Aleias Wheat IPA, then went to the Burgundian for chicken and waffles and a pint of Fremont's Wandering Wheat Pale infused with coffee. I'm not typically a fan of wheat beers, but damn were they good.

I finished something... from Okinawa last night. Not sure what it was, but if there's a smooth version of Rubbing Alcohol, that's what it was. I broke it down with some hot water, it was perfect for defeating some cold virus germies which are plaguing me.

Also had this last week: Not sure what it is, except that it was 90 proof:

If there is a version of Rubbing Alcohol where they add turpentine for flavoring, that's what this is. Apparently in Inner Mongolia, 3 guys will go through 2 bottles of this in a casual evening, doing the full shot at once. Well, it's not any good for sipping, I can tell you that.
