It sucks that it's got these problems, because it's actually a fun little game. Just not fun enough to spend hours trying to get it working, though.

since it was a gift i decided to give it one last go, so i reinstalled, followed the instructions in this thread:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1920141

disabled steam cloud and overlay, ran as admin, turned every background thing off that i could, verified game cache like 5 different times

crashes every single time when trying to launch, even after all that

so, that's about all the time i am willing to spend on hunted, it just refuses to run on my system for whatever reason

edit: just found out inXile is working on Wasteland 2...welp

The Witcher 1 just made my GPU fans kick into overdrive for the first time ever (GTX 570.)  now it's idling at 57c with the game off...i installed 310.70 drivers yesterday, that's the only thing I've messed with.  hmm, i'll try dusting.

You never catch a break on anything, do you, Eel? :lol

What's weird is that Hunted is UE3, it should run on just about anything.

It didn't sell very well and isn't that highly-regarded, so very few people have bothered with doing any kind of troubleshooting.

More people need to be spreading the gift of Garshasp. Both amazing titles for just $2.50! It's the perfect gift for the person you mildly loathe!

Actually, it's electronics I have the most trouble with, PC games generally run okay for me even if I have to do a little work. I've run into some trouble with a couple recently, but still managed to fix all of it except Hunted. That game just isn't having any of me. Well, I guess there is also all the ongoing Steam bullshit, which I love as a cheap games outlet but still think is a piece of shit software-wise.

No more votes either it looks like.

I don't think I bought a thing through Steam this sale. Picked up a few through Amazon/GMG though.

Didn't pick up much because at this point I think I own all the PC stuff I want to play.  I'm good on not buying anymore PC games until Fall 2013 sales.

Grabbed:

FTL, Home, They Bleed Pixels, Penny Arcade Ep3, Ridge Racer Unbounded, LoTR War in the North, I am Alive, and Mass Effect 3 on Origin.  Probably spent about $60.

AHHHH missed one-- Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition.  It's $19.99, but i think it's been cheaper, so I'm gonna wait.

cause i need another 100 hour rpg.

I tried to get this last night, but they're asking for some "securecode" shit for my card on GMG. I haven't been asked for that in years so I guessed until they locked me out, smh.

8 games for $60 during a Steam sale sounds like a ripoff. :lol

Not sure if it's a glitch or not, but one can get Sleeping Dogs for 4.49 USD at the moment.

Yup, it was a glitch. Price has gone back to normal.
