...I bought a 3DS XL.

FUCKING FIRE EMBLEM, WHY MUST YOU EXIST???

Uh.  Yeah.  Recommendations for 3DS/DS games of note will be accepted here, along with your best efforts to shame me.  Just know that I have already done a better job than you can.

I played Mario 3D Land for 2-3 worlds on my nephews 3DS. I like it a lot and I'm one of the few who doesn't care for Mario 64.

I was hoping this would be about how stupid andrex has been recently.

On topic, a 3DS is basically a must have (or will be.) It's got some quality games, although not much recently. M3DL is a solid game, but I don't think it's as challenging as the ex and himu have been talking about, even in the post game worlds. Mario Kart 7 is a great MK. Kid Icarus is garbage, but you should probably play it. Some peeps love it. Haven't player RE, but I don't ever play those games. KH3D is the next game I'll get, I hear it's pretty sweet.

Did you like Guardian Heroes? If so Code of Princess might be worth a look. It's a bit more animu and a bit more sluggish than GH though. I've heard very good things about Virtue's Last Reward too.

When does that game above come out? Looks interesting... is it a downloadable (god I hope not)...

Do the stages in Code of Princess ever get longer / more complex? I only played for maybe an hour or so but each stage is like 30 seconds long (or 1 screen in a belt scroll). Feels like the emphasis is on the story instead of the action - basically the opposite of Guardian Heroes.

Why would anyone need to prepare a shame circle because you bought the best handheld on shelves now? ???

I was hoping this would be about how stupid andrex has been recently.

It's not balls out hard, but it's the most challenging Mario I've ever played.

Note: I hate SM2j so it doesn't count.

You're about to buy a game (Fire Emblem 3DS) where you can marry and procreate with a 10 year old girl (but it's TOTALLY OK because she's really a 100 year old dragon, seriously).

Since you like strategy games, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars might be up your alley.  It's a strategy game under the creative direction of Julian Gollop of XCOM fame.

Shame comes in many shapes and sizes.

Fire Emblem is a great reason to buy a Nintendo handheld though, always loved those along with Advanced Wars titles

WTF happened to Advance Wars?

Dual Strike sold bad enough to make major changes for the next game.  The next game, Days of Ruin, sold even worse.  Shame as they're both excellent.

Not sure if it'll come back.  It was almost entirely riding on its NA sales, and, well, that's not a good situation for a 3DS game to be in.

I can't go into the electronics section of Target anymore. Every time I see the 3DS XL it makes me look at my normal 3DS with disgust  :yuck

Crimson Shroud is very good.  :heartbeat Matsuno :heartbeat

Also, a new Cruncheons is coming  :omg

Crimson Shroud is good on the eShop (Matsuno game, pen-and-paper D&D sim).

Mario Land 3D >>>> New Super Mario Bros 2.

Mario Kart 7 is one of the good ones in the series.

Nothing else, really.

I'm pretty much completely uninterested in any actual 3DS games other than the new Fire Emblem; I kind of plan on just using it to play old DS rpgs, honestly.  I'll probably get Mario Land 3D at some point.

Mario Land 3D is remarkably good; it's a totally different, divergent evolution of the core SMB gameplay from the 64 -> Sunshine -> Galaxy branch. It just feels solid in a way the New SMB games don't. Plus: no wah wah!

Kid Icarus is full of anime-style humor and insane amounts of VO. It also is almost unplayable due to the controls. I don't think it's for you.

Like Oscar mentioned, Pushmo/Crashmo are good puzzle games (also eShop).

Oh, if you've never played VVVVVV, the 3DS version is remarkably definitive? Though it's like $1.24 every Steam Sale these days.
