Anyone else picking this up? Demo was nice, even though they didn't explain the battle system.

Huh. Figured it would just end up being tiesto and I.

Kinda surprised at the Western reviews it's been getting. Game bombed hard in Japan and the reviews weren't that great.

But man, the demo didn't bother explaining the battle system at all. Seemed like a combination of Tales and Pokemon/SMT.

I ordered the LE from Namco's site, apparently the company they use for shipping is horrible, so I don't expect to get it for a little while (gives me more time to finish up P4 I guess!)

I ordered it through Amazon, all the bonus swag didn't interest me at a $100+ price tag. My copy will be here on Tuesday. Gotta finish Ryu ga Gotoku 5 first, though.

Edge seems to like Japanese RPGs better than western ones, surprisingly enough. I mean Witcher 1 got a 5 and Witcher 2 got a 6 for gods sakes (should definitely be higher!)

All the impressions/reviews for this are very positive.  I thought people were cold on this back when it came out in Japan? or was that the DS version?

The DS version, which is a different game. The Ps3 game seems to have great user reviews in Japan. But the game bombed anyway.

Beware of this save-destroying bug in Ni no Kuni

Ni no Kuni has a rather inconvenient bug. At around 45 minutes into the game, players will encounter a wand quest. If you save/restore at the start of the quest, your file will be destroyed.

This isn’t an isolated bug, unfortunately. There are a few reports surfacing from press members with early copies noting the same problem. Hopefully Namco Bandai will issue a fix!

Ni no Kuni launches in North America this Tuesday. Be sure to keep this information in mind while playing.

It's a bit vague.

https://twitter.com/Yousif_Alshaker/status/291527235020677120

I think that saving the game during the start of that quest, and then reloading that save state (after you die or quit the game) will give you the bug...

All I know is that I'm going to use different saves once that quest pop ups. Just in case.

Stupid pal delay...

Anyway...
I read about the bugged wand quest and it's nothing to worry about. It's a main quest in the beginning and it only last a minute or two.

Just don't save at the beginning of the quest, follow the short objective and you're fine

They pretty much get straight to the point in the intro, almost parody-like. Also that wand quest bug is also at the intro. Why you would save at this point is curious, but I suppose a bug is a bug.

Drippy likes to call your character a stupid fuck as well.

Would have bought one of the six copies my local Gamestop had, but they said they couldn't sell me a copy without buying the $40 guide with it. I want the game, but not enough to pay $100 for it.
