FF VI and XII came close but no cigar Chrono Trigger is still the best JRPG out there

um, I think SE published grandia 3 (?). it wasn't great but the combat system was still really good.

after googling it seems it's tied to the rainbow scale quest. this is so weird because i always get the rainbow gear. I have never done this

I like CT but it suffers from the same problem as lots of other JRPGs that battles outside of boss fights are completely boring and meaningless, and comprise like 40% of the time you spend playing the game.

As per what Sho Nuff said, the modern Square doesn't seem to have the talent available for something like CT. You guys should really play FF13-2. Yes, the story is a nonsense but HOPE AND NOEL are all you need regarding that.

Gameplay is ACE, it's one of the most addicting RPGs I played this year. I always ran to the next battle and I tried to do every sidequest even though I don't have time to play vidya and I generally hate fetch questing. That's how fun it was.

But then the Ending will hit you and FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF LIGHTNING RETURNS WHY I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS

I really hope Sega has Skies of Arcadia waiting in the wings for digital release v. soon, they've re-released heaps of their other Dreamcast games, just not the one that everyone wants
