I predict:
-smash trailer
-mario kart announcement

Nothing new ofc. Also mario kart will look like mario kart wii but in hd. Not even as good as sonic kart.

Anyway, as for the announcement, I don't know. Personally, I think there'll be something new of moderate excitement, but I'm largely just expecting release dates on the stuff we already know about.

i think that's because they don't want to put the prerendered backgrounds in HD without touching them up. When you play it in Dolphin, it looks good but the character model stands out a lot from the background.

@Oscar Wouldn't Mother be a good thing to announce in order to help the J-market? Isn't it a decent franchise over there?

I mean, I imagine a Mother collection in the vein of the Kirby and Mario Wii ones, as barebones as it would be, would be enough to act as a "salve." Certainly it'd be better than nothing.

it's essentially an upside down V8 engine without the housing. you can't take chances on these things, not with wiiU sales being as they are.

The way people use it, you'd think SM3DL, MK7, and MH3G magically appeared out of nowhere the day Nintendo cut 3DS' price. It's nonsense. In all likelihood, Nintendo will just have to ride out poor Wii U sales for at least the next couple quarters, with no price drop.

Actually NSMB2 was even more rushed and reactionary than SM3DL and MK7 were. Panic mode Nintendo at its worst.

Panic mode Nintendo is nice for when Nintendo is doing something third party/console service wise you don't like, and then seeing them try and fix it. 3DS OS has come a ways since release and I don't doubt they believe it a business priority to get the Wii U's shit in order.

I hate memes of any sort that catch on, particularly among gamers, the most insufferable of all human beings, but there is at least some truth to the "panic mode" thing. Nintendo is at their best when they've got someone's boot on their neck. Happy Nintendo leads to shit like the back half of the Wii's lifespan, cartridges on the N64, ten years of black and white Game Boy, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and $15 Pokedex apps.

But that's the thing though, they *were* in development long before the 3DS started showing a weak performance. Nintendo's state of panic seemed to have no bearing on their scope/quality (except an adverse one?), all they did was probably strategize their announcements and release dates better as you suggested.
