Anyways, Great Rumbler that Iridion GBA ost is so beyond what you would expect from that system. Stupendous.

My fav VGM composer of all time, Yoko Shimomura:

this soundtrack is on Spotify too. I'm not sure anymore which version this is specifically. I'm guessing OG SF2 arcade version.

Ohhhh so good.

Birth By Sleep version. Any version of Dearly Beloved gets to me though. Got to see Yoko in person last year in Munich, Germany. A real dream come true.

I also love Jake Kaufman. Think he is a real VGM treasure of the west.

Nintendo senselessly going after Fire Emblem uploads on Youtube. Noticed that even Supradarky removed his FE uploads either as a preventive measure or due to threats. Bums me out when music is kept away from people. It isn't going to suddenly make 5000 people buy some random soundtrack. Instead people will just toss the music out of their mind since it's quite literally out of sight out of mind. You do you Nintendo.

To The Moon key track. Lovely little game/walking simulator. Haven't gotten around to the follow up which has a different name, but I think the same 2 main characters.

It would make sense if they put the soundtracks on Spotify and other streaming services but there aren't many ways to get the soundtrack legally.
I do happen to have it because they put it on the USB stick included with the European LE but that's all so convoluted $:-\$

Distant Worlds concert was yesterday. It seems that for this tour they are focusing on FF7 for the second half of the concert. I didn't mind that. Even if FF7 isn't all that high on my FF OST list, the 4 or 5 tracks they played were quality choices. JENOVA still kicks hard baby. Aerith's theme sounds really nice with the full orchestra. Yoko Shimomura was in attendance. They kicked off the show with two FF15 tracks. Happy that Somnus was played (it was the second track selected). They had a couple solo vocalists who actually performed on the games. So you had two vocal FF14 tracks and one vocal FF10 track that was also featured. FF6 was represented by Searching for Friends (great track). Secretly wished for Terra's Theme, but hey. After the second half FF7 portion they played a few more tracks and I'm really happy they played To Zanarkand which sent literal shivers over my body

. Such a strong piece when you add the power of a full orchestra behind that track. It felt like the show was missing something right up to that point haha.

All in all a fine show.

Was Soul Reaver 2 any good? Never got around to playing it. Definitely one of top series in gaming that needs a return solely based on Blood Omen and SR1 alone. Now that CD is technically done with that shit marvel game, they need to revisit that Kain train like they did with TR.

More of the same, with higher production values, except no (fewer?) box puzzles. More elaborate combat that could get tedious. Lots of backtracking too, I believe.

sr2 was kinda bullshit. instead of having a hub world it was a straight fucking line. the story would having you running back and forth along the line, and it took all of two seconds to realize there was no advantage to fighting enemies so you spent a lot of the game running past everything over and over. everything was outside of that was pretty cool.

defiance felt even more repetitive, but the story managed to wrap itself up pretty satisfyingly. overall a super janky but memorable series.

Legacy of Kain 2 was the best game in the series, mechanically. Or, well rounded. Haven't played it in 18 years or so, but I'm sticking with this story.
