Cool, little system with a couple of good games and their online service is top notch. I wish it'd sell more units and we could kill off the PS3.

Its doing great in the US, I heard somewhere its pulling in a PROFIT, which is a contrast to the first Xbox. Add to that the plans for the 360 to serve as a TIVO like box as well as everything else it can do.

MS has deep pockets, even if it goes boom im sure it'll survive because they want it to.

I don't think Microsoft will sink or swim depending on the 360, but it doesn't seem to be making much in terms of headway from what I can see. It is a neat console, though.

Its making plenty of headway, in fact its easy to say that its first year compared to the first Xbox's first year is pretty phenomenal. PS3 is losing lots of $$$, and Nintendo is doing well because people like to waggle wands.

If last gen was able to support 3 consoles, im pretty sure this next one can do it if it must. Tho I see the PS3 suffering quite a bit its first year while a steadily increasing US 360 base is established.

The Japanese market isnt nearly as influential as it used to be. If anything that is the true legacy of the first Xbox. One foot in the door and HELLO self-sustaining American videogame market.

It has a lot of AAA games already, a "good" amount of shovelware for Achievements whores, and the best online system on any console for years. When it gets to 2007 holiday nobody's going to be willing to bear the PS3 price for a recognizable brand.

Its the fact that I can be playing say...Geometry Wars and chatting with someone thousands of miles away who is playing sayyyy Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Plus yeah the content, but MS has big plans for XBL and the Arcade games are getting an allowed size increase soon too i guess.

yeah it's really fun the first time you turn on the system and you're spending half an hour looking at all the things in the system and you didn't even go online

...I can't even begin to explain what the online is like, it's beyond words. I think the average 360 owner gets more playtime out of the online content and services then offline but both are better then PS3 currently so that's going to be cemented more and more now that the PS3's out.

Sony gets the benefit of the doubt from many people because of their history. But right now I can't say they deserve it. 2006 was basically a weak year for them. The PS3 has little going for it. Remember all those GAF threads that got locked back in the day for being "negative"? Well most of them came to frution lol

Sony fans lol. I was chatting to couple of 'casual gamers' at my office once and they were like 'Oh Im really looking forward to PS3' then I was like 'How come?', and they were like 'Ummmm, its gonna be cool', no mention of a specific game they wanted to play or anything.
