I've watched videos about the recent games in the series and they all look like tons of fun.  Shit, I think I've been reading about the Ys series probably since I got one of my first game mags in the 80s (and yes, I pronounce it "wise.")  Yet, I've never played it!

i hadnt played one either until a few weeks ago. ys1&2 still holds up great especially you grew up in the 80s. i started playing the 3 remake and the "new" gameplay is fun as fuck too. also the bosses in this series are sadistic
