Yeah, it's hard to really expect anything else considering not just the industry right now but the franchise itself right now.
I hope it's close in quality to the two Elite Force games at least. The part about exploring the Enterprise gives that little inner fan service hope. Like in Elite Force, massacring half the Delta Quadrant in order to get to operate some transporter controls and reroute some power.
And getting the whole cast is cool beans.
yeah, that's enough to warrant a pick-up during a steam sale, assuming it's coming to PC. The game looks like bog-standard TPS with questionable star trek dressings. Put it next to another co-op shooter like Fuse, and if I had to choose which is more uninteresting from a "fun to play" perspective, I'll pick Star Trek. But I'll still sooner play Star Trek for the license.
and truthfully, after watching TNG, some of the movies, and DS9 (nearly finished) I've come to appreciate the 2009 movie more. Stuff like this and the Star Trek Into Darkness trailers are disconcerting. Like, if they announced a new TV show, it would be Space-Walking Dead or Space-Modern Family.
