I knew almost all the RPG, adventure, FPS, and sidescrolling games, but I missed most of the racing, sport, and sim ones.

Got the first 5 wrong and closed the window :'( The only DOS games I played were Hugo and one of the golf games. I must have put 100 hours into the golf one, can't remember the name though

Exactly what happened to me.. I got 36/50. There were some I knew instantly (especially anything mid 90's shareware), others I guessed and got lucky, and others I just used process-of-elimination (i.e. no way that kart racer was "Mario Kart" )

Not bad, a few process of elimination guesses and all the ones I missed were obscure as fuck titles no one played.  I was a moderately mainstream gamer back in the 80s.  I knew the main titles, but stuff definitely flew under my radar.
