I'll check it out later tonight.  Is the demo multiplayer? I think I added everyone, except Andrex, who never accepted my friend invite  :gloomy

The demo seemed fine. I killed the rabbit monster twice and had the time run out on the sea monster. Fighting under water sucked - where is Andrex when you need him ??? I wonder how much of the game is underwater stuff and how easily you can avoid it

The half second delay on the lock on was extremely annoying. I can't believe MH fans put up with that shit. If I hit the lock on button the camera should swing immediately, not half a second later. Also, not being able to map the L & R functions to ZL & ZR is stupid. I get this is a 3DS up port with like zero effort but would letting me remap the controls kill you capcom?

Otherwise it was fun. Just having a second stick is a HUGE improvement over what I remember from my limited time with the PSP MH

I'll probably pick it up but I'm more interested in Soul Sacrifice at this point

I thought the 3DS demo was better.  Smoother plus the control contrivances were less annoying on such limited hardware.  I don't know the circumstances behind the wii u port job, but it's kinda lazy.  Couldn't figure out how to do off-screen play, if it's supported.

i don't know in the wii U version but in the original there were only 3 monster that would go underwater (lagiacrus, gobul and royal ludroth) plus the final boss of single player mode (ceadeus)

I'm not very familiar with Monster Hunter. Is it primarily a multiplayer game where you use teamwork to take down huge monsters?

Same. I tried the 3DS version later and ended up liking it more

Got the 3ds demo. Only experience with Monster Hunter before this was a crappy psp demo that I thought was shit due to control scheme. 3ds demo is MUCH better mostly due to the inclusion of the touch screen camera.

I really like it. It takes skill, knowledge of the map, and it's fun.

Only issues I have:

1. You are whacking away and have NO CLUE how much until the monster is dead. No life bar, no nada. Annoying and makes the fights feel mindless.

2. Map. On the hard stage of the demo, there's a water grotto or lake or something and 8, 9, and 10 or whatever have no lines connecting them, so I traveled all over the damn map trying to get to them. I ended up going to one and kept going on to finally get to 9. Confusing. Bad mapping. Draw a line connecting each section PLEASE.

Other than that, groovy.
