Either way. If you're going to poke fun, do it right. SMT has been my go to jrpg franchise almost ten years. Monster Hunter would be a better joke. Me not getting.g SMT4 on day one is offensive.

I owned the system for 2 weeks and got all caught up and now it's on amazon.   Back to Vita...gotta work on this backlog :smug

you somehow played all the good games in two weeks (even joe took a week to plow through fire emblem and he was playing it a ton), and are selling it just before a bunch of awesome games are coming out, which will likely result in you buying it again for a higher price than you're selling it for.

vitards :derp

bought for $130 ($105 spent after a $25 gc), sold for $170, but anyway, you think I didn't look at the release list or think about it?  We don't all have the same taste in games.   I won't get SMTIV day 1 because i won't play it for a year.

I got Strange Journey when it came out, traded in FF13 for it when it came out, played the fuck out of it, beat it, haven't touched it in years.

STRANGE JOURNEY THREAD. let's see if Shaka is in it!

Shaka looks mad stupid with this.

Dev Sur is the one exception. I got DevSur 1 and enjoyed it but not enough to want a sequel. I passed on DevSur 2.

It certainly isn't a precedent with me. Outside of Brutal Legend, I get games I buy systems for on day one. What's even weirder is that Shaka is more prone to do exactly that. So I dont know wtf.

How long/grindy is Strange Journey? And on that note, how about Nocturne?

yeah, 3DS has a very narrow appeal, but if you're into those games it should be awesome.  It helps that these are genres that aren't well represented on consoles.  It is more PSP than matching how great DS was, which is still pretty great in the end.  I'm hoping some of PSPs later games get ported so there's more reason to bring them stateside;  mainly Nayuta no Kiseki.

I'd like to get a 3DS XL one of these days.  Not into jrpgs much anymore, but other games like luigi's mansion 2 looks great.  Playing on my regular 3DS feels bad and I'm trusting shaka that the XL is a much better experience.  It's down to price and color.

strange journey might require a little grinding toward the end when you need a very particular combination of monsters for the final boss, with nocturne you are done grinding after beating matador

Lawful path  :-\

It isn't too bad though. I fond that smt isn't too grind of a series. It is mostly about abilities and demon roll out.

After owning the XL for some months I think the upgrade was worth the battery life- and the bigger screen is nice- the 3D viewing angle is FUCKIN NARROW though- I mean to the point of being a pain in the ass about it.

I also found it annoying that trading in my 3DS was impossible since I used a nyko battery extender attachment (which rules) but lost the backplate- iirc I ended up giving it away or something.

Yeah, the 3DS seems to finally be picking up steam. Also I'm finally starting to see kids run around with the thing so I expect the system to take off once that Pokemon game comes out.

My only complaint is that I have the original 3DS and my hands always start cramping up with how small it is. Should've waited for an XL I guess  :-\

that is such an odd statement

owning almost any gaming device fingers you as a nerd.  so does that mean the 3DS line-up is fucking boss as hell?

i dont know the games just seem so low effort and always have from nitnendo on handheld. i just dont feel em. picross ds and picross 3ds are gotg tho

I still don't get your point then. Give one reason why I would not get smt4 and play the shit out of it liken usual? You're not making any sense! Since when have you developed smt elitism? We barely see you in smt threads. When did this develop?

And yet I haven't finished Mighty Switch Force.

And I haven't even started Shantae, Mighty Flip Champs, and Might Milky Way yet.   :-[

Bravely Default seriously makes me consider getting a 3DS for it. It's the second time ever that I want to buy a system for a specific game. The first one is my plan to get a PS3 for GTA5 if it turns out you can't play that game on the PS4.
