Thanks everyone! So far I got lots of monies and I got a cupcake holder that looks like a gigantic pink cupcake. I got some pretty flowers, a balloon and pretzel M&Ms from my momma on top of the money and card she gave me.

Moms

We went out for a friend's 30th on Friday (our first time leaving the baby with my parents to go out since we had her lol). We hit a couple of local microbrews followed by a 3am bar. Then we went to dinner with a few friends Saturday for my birthday to ANOTHER microbrew (Shaka - Trailhead where we met up with you last time we had dinner). Then we went to a new fancy BBQ place down the street from us on Main Street. They had lots of craft beer from the microbrews we had been to all weekend. Hubs was in beer heaven, and any time I have access to pulled meats, I'm thrilled. (

lol she gave me a completely contrived FB birthday wall post so that our family and mutual friends would publicly see her make this amazing, wonderful gesture, further proving to everyone that I am the problem, not her. I wish I was joking, but that's seriously how her mind works. "Happy birthday!!! Many many many many more!! Love, mom and dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" All of our extended family live far away and we only talk to them on FB really, so they know shit went down but they don't know the details, so no telling what she's told them. We've already had their friends email us to tell us how awful we are. WTF? They're the ones who aren't around. We flat out told her she can come around if she can be nice to our child, and she hasn't been back since, so apparently she doesn't know how to be nice to the baby.

She did the same FB birthday post to my husband on his birthday, only it wasn't dripping with fake bitchness, just "Happy birthday - mom & dad" So he did the same on her birthday last month, and she ended up emailing him over it. "Thanks for the birthday wishes. Anyway, you have some tools that we don't feel like buying again because it's really expensive ($100 saw they left in our garage). BTW you turned your back on us, we didn't turn our back on you. Well we have lots of nieces and nephews who like us and accept us as human beings, with all the frailties associated with the species."

My husband emailed her back and told her she needs mental help. And then pointed out that she's only called to check on the baby ONCE and she called Evey by the wrong name. lol love that man

@Mups - I bust out laughing when I read it! She obviously has mental issues she needs to address. She's managed to create an entire life that revolves around her, and this darned baby threw a kink in that.

My husband really is amazing. Praise the lord that he doesn't carry those genes. It really bothers him, and he's had some stress-related health issues in the last few months (at the ripe age of 30/31), but we can't MAKE his parents be interested in the baby. She refuses to even acknowledge her in conversations/emails unless we make it a point to call his mom out on it. There's really nothing else we can do at this point other than accept that she doesn't want to be a part of our child's life, which is fine with me if she's going to be negative all the time. I don't want to be around that, so I definitely won't subject my child to that bs. Luckily my parents are great with the kiddo and they love my husband. He's closer with my parents than I think he's ever been with his own.
