I am pretty fucking critical when it comes to games and I only beat 1~3 a year, but this guy just doesn't seem to approve of fucking anything. I'm actually wondering if he even plays video games.

His absolutely pitiful. I had hoped his last long ban was permanent. This is a guy who will shit on a game for months on end and then still go out launch day and get it for full price.

His fave game of this gen was the utterly laughable Far Cry 2 so I find it hard to take anything he say's seriously.

To be fair, I've done that myself a few times hoping things had changed and nope. Otherwise I generally wait for -50%/-75% off sales/bombas before I buy them to inflict pain on me. Might as well have said "I've played them and they sucked" than pulling a Derrick "they suck" just from the stuff that is shown in the run-up to launch.

In any case anything that doesn't fit his mindview of what a series/genre should have sucks and he'll shit on constantly, no matter how much opinion is "yeah, it isn't like the older titles but it's good."

This is the first generation that I won't be buying a console. I have so many games on Steam I barely paid for that it doesn't even seem right. I can wait 8 months to play a game if it's 75% off (and the superior version).

I don't really care. My major problem with Derrick is railing on something and not even giving the game a chance after series fans say it's "good, but not as good as the old ones. Worth playing however." Like Splinter Cell: Blacklist. He rains on it's parade for months and GAF/fans collective "it's a step in the right direction but not where the series was" and he's still railing on it. I mean that's fine his opinion and all but apparently he hasn't even played the damn thing.

I can't take his opinion on anything seriously because of that and murdered him in the digital realm. Honestly I haven't seen his posts in months now and the boards have been better because of it.
