But you can say that about so many other genres of games too. 

I don't get the "SB is old-school Capcom" line though.  Don't agree with that at all.  I don't think of a game series that started in 2005 as "old-school Capcom."

Well, yeah. But he's trying to defend the Musou genre with Sengoku as a defense for the 8-4 guy (and many others) lack of interest in the genre because it's "stale" after numerous titles in that genre that is just "mass beating down of large groups of enemies with no deviation in combat."

Is there differences in stages and stuff? Sure, can't discount that. But for most people they see the same "XXXXXX/AAAAAAA/whatever button" mashing with no "style" like other games. He brings up Devil May Cry, that has Stinger in launcher and then guns or following up in the air... etc. differences in combat. Unless you played Legendary Dark Knight in DMC4 PC which then kinda pulled a Musou and showed large enemies in small rooms wasn't such a good idea...

Compare that/other titles with Musou/DW, SB... and yeah... you can get where the 8-4 guy is coming from.

If you're mashing in msuou that's your own problem. There are many ways to make sick combos.

If there's one area that Basara has Musou games beat in, it's combos.  Especially in SB4.

But yeah- I love how people complain that these games are too easy and are just button mashers.  Move the difficulty level up past easy or normal and see what happens.

- Leaks info. Everyone flocks to shower him with praise, he basks in it.
- Someone else leaks something, he rushes in to state he knew about all that stuff months in advance, tries to give more info to upstage the original leaker in an attempt to siphon some of the attention.

The last piece to his puzzle is his obsession with the insider game, which is quite meta and concerning.

That high school was such a shit hole.  Bathrooms smelling of cigarette and weed smoke, fledgling gang members lining the hallways, teachers who didn't give a fuck, and a few murders during the school year.  You know, all the things that are conducive to a good learning experience. The school was eventually torn down and relocated, shortly after I transferred out and graduated.  I remember acing some history exam a few weeks after the year began, only to receive some mockery from my teacher as he handed the paper back to me.  Said some bullshit suggesting rest of the students beat me up at lunch time.

I pretty much wished all the bad things on him.

Then he died of cancer halfway through the school year.
