That stigma may still exist, but I don't think I'd really care what people who dislike video games think. Not like they'd be my kind of people anyway.
I just try and not be obnoxious about my hobbies. Like I'm not going to go up to people and say "I love video games like PERSONA". I also don't try and talk about just video games with people especially when they aren't interested in them like I am. When someone is talking about how much they like CoD and don't know or care what Final Fantasy is, they probably don't want to heat about Persona 4. Thats fine, a lot of gamers on the internet don't seem to understand that not everyone cares about you're obscure dating sim and that doesn't mean they are filthy casuals.
When I find someone who actually likes what I like and wants to talk about that stuff then sure I can ramble on about that. As long as the person seems interested as well in what I'm saying about Persona. Yeah I'll talk about that in a public place, I mean why wouldn't I? I'm not ashamed of what I like.
But yet, I try not to just talk about games. I'm not defined by being a gamer. So I try not to just make conversations solely about video games.
