Also I'm going to say megathreads are the best thing about that board. People afraid to post in megathreads need to get over themselves. Yeah, the hostility in those threads could be lessened but the "new thread, new news" shit along with moving busy threads to community to kill them off is just ugh.

That's why it is the SPOILER thread. And the show is good but most of its "merits" come from being authentic to the books. Any time they flounder and go away from the books (Jon Snow's entire arc this and last season, Dany last season) it makes for BORING television for what is captivating reading. Let's put it this way. Jon Snow is my favorite ASOIAF character and view point. How do yôu think I feel about his povs in the show? They're terrible. The actor is bad. The writing for his segments are bad.

The show has merit, but the quality is all over the place and it is literally impossible for a book fan to not compare to the show as they have made a ridiculous amount of changes.

That's not really that bad or non-reflective of reality. I meet people in real life who happen to browse GAF and that's the general attitude towards it. "What is wrong with that place?" is normally the sort of question I get.
