I think by "moderate" libertarianism he means the stuff having to do with restricting civil rights whenever it might be in the interest of public security (stop & frisks, NSA surveillance, etc).

I think it's hard to find an actual person who is totally pure to any ideology but there are some good things to the non-economic side of libertarianism.

Moderate libertarianism got stamped the fuck out in this country. They were called Goldwater Conservatives. They didn't play nice with the Religious Right so they were ostracized.

Fwiw, I talk about things either in the abstract or in the past.  When I have personal things going on in my life I don't discuss them here.  I learned that lesson a few years ago.  Better to keep private relations offline until they're over and then you can vent and learn about what you did right/wrong online.
