My 8 year old says OOT is the best Zelda. He's beaten all the 3D Zeldas now.

I'll trust his judgement, since he isn't swayed by nostalgia (yet).

I didn't really give Majora's Mask a fair shake until 2009~ish and I think it's the best 3d Zelda.

That's without any nostalgia as I hated it when it came out.

I don't hate Ocarina of Time, in fact I'm quite sure I love it. That said, having played both it and A Link to the Past back-to-back made me realize that 3D Zelda has always been weaker than 2D.

The simplistic, linear puzzle-solving in 3D Zelda games is novel at first, but puke-worthy on multiple playthroughs. Conversely, most of the gameplay in the first three Zelda games is pure combat, which makes it easy to enjoy on subsequent runs because of how much the enemy AI, and your choice of weaponry, can vary. Admittedly, Ocarina of Time is pretty light on the puzzles that eventually became the series' norm, but I'd still much rather do A Link to the Past annually. Hell, I think I'd prefer Twilight Princess to OoT at this point simply because I've played the latter way too much.

OoT hasn't aged as well as Majora's Mask, but its still an amazing game that I pick up ever 4 or 5 months or so.

Calling the graphics N64-like is obviously an exaggeration, but I also started thinking that HD twin graphics started to look bad in about '09. Games like The Last of Us are still stunning at times, but you are constantly reminded of the low resolution and framerate compared to PC games.

I can see the argument that she's more talented in a variety of ways. Both are airheads but at least Swift writes her own music. Instead of, you know, forcing people to give her songwriting credits.
