Mutes is a socially awkward virgin who I imagine is one bad decision away from being a sex offender.

Well, observations about my own sanity notwithstanding, I personally think it would make for a terrible paid position. As is, it's only as grueling a job as you want it to be. Meaning that if you wake up and decide to heavily moderate the latest shitstorm that's already on page 50, that's your call. It would be far worse if this was a situation where we were assigned threads and areas and held personally responsible for any violations that go unchecked.
