Lena Dunham is fucking gross and I hate how I get called a sexist for pointing it out. feggits that want to see seem different claim she is attractive but she is simply gross. That slutty magazine cover she did made me want to vomit as did the claims that "That's what a real woman looks like".

If you ever said "This girls imperfections make her hotter than a supermodel" you are not a unique snowflake and should be shipped to a desert island where you die slowly.

I preferred the first season of Breaking Bad. It was less silly, and felt like a real drama. I still love the show, but it's pretty much a comic book now.

breaking bad is pulp. Pure, pure pulp. Nothing wrong with pulp.

That scene was so amazing tho That's where I was officially IN for the series.

But it's still pretty pulp. Walt trashes Saul's car, they're captured by a raging Mexican gangster, the part where they got rid of the dead bodies in Jesse's house, there's a shit ton of wish fulfillment as Walt takes over his manhood;etc.

I enjoyed BB less when I thought it was supposed to be real drama like Mad Men and not accepting it for what it was: fucking awesome pulp crime drama with Greek tragedy thrown in.

Mad Men keeps getting better and better like Breaking Bad, Don Draper is one of the most well written and compelling characters on TV. I think it's genius how they set it during the 60's with all the changing demographics that the ad men have to cater to. It's not for everyone, but calling it a bad soap opera is selling it short. It is a melodramatic soap opera, but it's done very well.

The Newsroom is absolutely terrible though. So is that shitfest Girls.

Girls is Sex and the City with hipsters.  If that is your thing, then you'd probably like it.  However that show only works if you like those two things.  Otherwise it is pretty terrible.  Having everyone hype it up to be some zeitgeist of quarter lifers is obnoxious when only a small percentage of the population (ie, hipsters with rich parents) can relate.

man what are you guys on about? I just like the characters and the improvisational nature of the show. I don't get all of this "for hipsters/posers/white people/whatever". It's a TV show that a very large number of people watch, and unsurprisingly not all of the viewers are going to be the exact same kind of person.

I always saw it as showing (with hipster exaggerations) how dumb young people can be with Dunham's character being the most extreme example.

Each main character is basically a total emotional trainwreck with a lot of growing up to do.

It's a great show. I love it.

Again it's show that isn't raved about by most of the forums/twitter/FB etc. I swear The Newsroom is more popular than it on somewhere like Gaf for instance.

I would say to anyone mildly interested that now is the best time to watch the show as you won't have to wait a week to see the next episode. You can do a couple of episodes a day or something I think especially for a show like this. That works a lot better.
