Pokémon always has an array of mostly-superfluous gameplay subsystems. It's an endearing quality of the games and a testament to Gamefreak's attention to detail. That said, nothing since SoulSilver has even come close to topping the Pokeathlon. It was almost an entire 'nother game (by Pokémon spinoff standards, lol) inside the actual game.

I have never touched any of that besides the Battlefrontier which really should be in EVERY title released since Emerald but isn't. :'(

Outside of the bullshit cheating AI that's basically where my "post game" goes if I'm not shooting for dex entries. Pageants and stuff like that is just learning a new thing that'll be taken away in the next game because Gamefreak can't simply keep things in the game. :/

I bought it because I hadn't played a pokemon since yellow and the penguin was cute, but I didn't find it particularly fun. The beauty pageant was just the point where I couldn't be bothered to sleep-walk through it anymore.

I just read that thread and tbh the OP sounds boring, no wonder his friends didn't invite him out to the club he sounds like that very uptight friend that some people have who just can't relax and have fun.

I have a friend who used to be like this. If we went out he'd remind us that he had to be indoors by 10pm this guy was 20 at the time. Would always avoid clubbing and would never drink. Thankfully he met someone and has loosened up a lot more.

Everyone who met him at the UK GAF meet spoke quite well of him tbh, I know he's drawn ire in the past for certain things, but I'm sure he's a decent fella. Being comfortable / secure these days has been allowing him to relax and enjoy himself from what I gather.

I don't envy the people who are meant to moderate PS4/Xbone threads, I'd ban everyone who takes a side and turn it into Master Race & Nintendrone hell/heaven, but its nice to see a rare ban-reversal where it was the right thing to do.
