You know in the story it's not like the employee tried to stop him from buying the Wii U. The op couldn't buy the Wii U at the price he was looking for and then probably opted not to buy it. That paycheck looks good now but 5-7 years later they'll be looking for jobs again because most of them won't make partner.

AMD is in much deeper shit than Nvidia though.  Just look at the stock prices and quarterly earnings.

AMD's console business won't help them much.  Nvidia turned down both Sony and MS because they were offering bum deals.
