Kat Bailey is good peeps. She does this annoying raspy thing when she talks, but she's good peeps otherwise.

The scene in question does seem like an odd choice, considering sucking an entire small family dry would have brought the "bad guy" point across as well, if not much better. The whole blood sucking monster thing was always kind of sexualized though... Usually it's more date rapey though.

It's clear that everything in Lords of Shadow 2 is going for a much darker tone, and far more personal storyline. As the end of the former Belmont's story, MercurySteam plans to tell an uncompromisingly dark and sinister tale of redemption. And when it gets dark, it really gets dark. That includes placing players in positions that would disturb and trouble many. When Zobek realizes that Dracula won't last long in his weary state, he places the Prince of Darkness in a secured room, along with a frightened and helpless family of three.

 From here, players enter a first-person view and must go about slaughtering and feeding on each of them to replenish the Prince of Darkness’ powers. As you can imagine, this scene is very tough to stomach, let alone play through -- and the game pulls no punches as killing off one member of the family will cause the others to panic and become paralyzed with fear. So CLoS2 makes a point of pushing that literally in my face when Drac regenerates to full power. I’m in a dark, locked room. I hear whimpering, eventually growing to full-blown screaming and pleas. I find a young family in the room with me. They’re freaking out in the way that you would if you found yourself locked in a cage with a hungry lion. Because effectively, they are. I have no choice but to feed on all three of them, saving the little girl ‘til last. Oh, and the whole thing plays out in first-person.

I guess that's part of Kat's point?  The game throws this out there to try to drive home how detestable and evil Belmont's become, then spends the rest of the time making him look like a grade A bad-ass 90s comic book superhero.

It's just in there to get exactly this kind of reaction.  Cox knows what he's doing, he's the P.T. Barnum of B-grade games.

At this point I really want to see it for myself. Because calling a scene with Dracula in it kind of rapey, is uh, well how the character rolls in general and always has.
