I can see the attraction. Once you're known as an 'insider' on places like Gaf your opinion rises to the top, and in a forum as loud and full as gaf that is important for a lot of posters.

When I started working in film production I would see film stuff very,very early lots of stuff that would make film geeks cream themselves at having access to it. And I would understand why people would leak stuff. It's exciting. Often I'd be in a gaf movie thread and want to correct people with the right information on certain unreleased films. But when you weigh it up and also see people you work with getting marched out the building for doing dumb shit like posting unfinished film special effect pics up on their FB and Twitter accounts and then getting completely blackballed in the industry afterwards it certainly focuses the mind.

I will talk about some stuff with close friends away from work and off the internet, but leaking etc,is a mugs game espcailly when you're NDA'ed up.

I haven't been following this too closely, but I don't think any of this is as dramatic as some suspect. Eventually, the heat will die down and the few who are committed to the idea that he's the infamous cboat will realize that he's not and move on. And as for how he got the information to cboat, I don't know the details or anything, but my suspicion is that it's not a very interesting story. Aside from the people who are convinced that he's cboat, I think ekim is going to be fine.

I can definitely relate to that..  Yeah the temptation is there for me to let someone know exactly how some creative process went down on a certain show or movie when some GAFer says something about how bad of a job someone did on something, not understanding that these creative choices come right from the top most of the time.  And then I think better of it and keep quiet.

To be fair: CBOAT's leaks were damn harmful for MS. He was the one that leaked their DRM plans wayyyyy ahead of time. As soon as those were confirmed? The rest of the world saw it as "smoke before fire" and then "fire in the house of MS" and avoided the console.
