Though I wish they had more VC stuff on the 3DS in general. I'd like to purchase FFVI and some of the other games I ignored on the Wii VC. Seems like it would be perfectly smart to have those things available for impulse buys from people just looking for something to play on the go instead of buying a $30+ game.

If it had been a few years ago, maybe, but Instagram's still doing it's own thing (still doesn't require FB login IIRC), WhatsApp will keep doing its own thing, etc. Zuck's spoken pretty openly about running "spin-off businesses" with a high level of autonomy.

The 3000 is the newest PSP model and has a bit of extra horsepower, which some homebrew takes advantage of.

No. He means Homebrew Homebrew. There is PSP titles that use the extra RAM the 3000 uses, but they aren't many.

Anyway, if you have a decent enough PC and want to pirate, PPSSPP will do you more good than the PSP unless you want "portability."

But as Oscar said: It's stupid easy now a days. Get a PSP/any version. Update to 6.60 OFW. Then get 6.60-TN-V and the exploit title(s) you need. Run that. BOOM. Light CFW and you can reboot to be back on OFW for Sony/PSN shit.

Exactly what it says: Titles/games that run the exploit/hack needed.

For instance: Persona 2: Innocent Sin was needed to run in the PSP sandbox. AFAIK the PSP line (1/2/3000's) no longer need an exploit. Don't quote me on that though, since I haven't followed the scene in years.

Again:

1. Update to latest (6.60) Official Firmware from Sony.
2. Get Lite Firmware "installer"/exploit for DA/OE/TN/whatever latest version of "light firmware". Found at wololo.net or other places
3. Put exploit/installer on Memory Stick
4. XMB->Games->Memory Stick->Exploit/installer->X
5.

?? (PSP splash loading image)
6. Light Firmware/CFW enabled PROFIT!

(Want to go back to OFW? Turn off the PSP/reboot the PSP. Back on 6.60 Sony. No need to uninstall anything. Want to go back to TN/whatever CFW? Boot the installer again.)

Speaking of which: I gotta get off my lazy ass sometime this week and see if I still have the "magic memory stick" you needed for the "Datel Tool"/service battery exploit to unbrick a found/lost PSP someone gave me to put CFW on it. At the worst, it's fucked with a bloated battery from the heat outside. On the positive, free 32gig memory stick to replace my 4gig.
