I'm honestly not familiar enough with the mechanic to understand how significant the change would be or what impact it would have on the title, but I do think we should note that just because the title has shipped, that doesn't mean that it's over and done with now. We live in a world where post-release patching exists.

Cargo shorts are indispensable when you're backpacking. Honestly, they provide a lot of utility in everyday life as well. Like if I want to take my camera with me when I go out, it's a whole lot more convenient to have a cargo shorts pocket to stuff it in than try to jam it into a side pocket or keep it around my wrist or whatever. Fedoras can provide cooling shade for your face and neck, etc.

What catches people up ala that GAF thread is the desire to be cool and loved and appreciated universally. The salty nerd utopia of mutual respect. It's never going to happen. I walk down the street and people are calling me a hipster try hard. A dude in cargo shorts walks down the street and people make Puddle of Mud jokes. Same shit different stigma. They don't get it. Nobody is leading their life in public without being noticed in some way. Nobody goes through their life without being the butt of a joke somewhere. So...who cares? We're all each others entertainment.

Fuck, one of my best friends lives his life in board shorts and tanks and it's the funniest shit ever. Another friend habitually wears shirts a size too small to show off his chest. I give them shit, they give me shit, world keeps spinning. If you're aware of who you are and what you're doing it shouldn't bother you.

there is nothing inherently bad or of poor taste about 'cargo pockets' on shorts, but I swear 99% of the time they're worn a size big (along with a size too big tshirt), bland and worn with bland things, poorly cut, and a rumpled mess which just makes the whole blobby shape issue worse. combine all three and your typical college age or young adult bro looks like a middleaged flyover state tourist. it's basically a more socially acceptable fedora, but shooting the opposite direction on the casual-formal spectrum.
