How do you AAA console game players feel right now? So far, 2014 is the worst year of gaming I have ever seen and I have been playing since I was 4. There's new consoles out, and they're still riffing on game types popularized in 2007/2008. There's barely anything inventive. 3ds release schedule is shit. Vita is lolitown. Ps3 is a paper weight unless you like some musou or kusoge. Xbox360
The new consoles mostly have up ports announced and released so far. The only interesting titles released this year are all indie and available on Steam. How do those apples taste, that you paid 400-500 for these machines? Paying 400 dollars for mediocre GTA knock offs. This is where we are at.
The rest of the year doesn't look good either, outside of Evil Within and Witcher 3. We are almost a year into the new consoles and you've been getting last gen and steam scraps.
and the old consoles? The systems that usually have boom periods of creativity after a new console launch? They're mostly dead. Japanese games have gone to shit. Western games have gone to shit. The only thing to play from either are expected franchises like tales, musou, battlefield, borderlands, farcry, call if duty.
The only platforms where gamers can play anything inventive and are fresh are steam, the dd services (pan, xbla), and mobile.
And yet they cling to consoles and laugh at mobile.
