I've seen some quality amateur/self shots tumblrs. There's a ton of self-indulgent garbage on the site but there's plenty of good content too if you know where to look. Aside from porn I've seen some good art and photography tumblrs as well.

more artists, better commentary system probably, easier to get noticed. Still think tumblr's easier to make a website. My friend uses tumblr for his comics. I'd prefer tumblr for that as well.

gaf gaming side is pretty much unbearable to me now. i don't know why but all of a sudden i am disgusted by all the manchildren in that place

I think E3 was the final straw for me. The little interesting discussion that starts up is soon derailed by the usual shithounds. Gaf is OK for getting game news, but for actual honest game discussion it's too big, too infiltrated by marketing shills both paid and ones who are doing it free for their 'side' for me to want to trudge through.

I mainly spend most of my time on Gaf now in the OT in the movie and TV threads.

Well tumblr, reddit, 4chan....hell even twitter and facebook are sites where you just have to filter a lot out to find the good stuff and keep away the awful stuff.

The same can be said for GAF.

better community (lol well sub communities), better artists mostly, more artists. If you ignore the gotta go fast fegs deviantart is actually pretty sweet

Nope. It's actually good if you are in their dedicated threads. It's much less "/b/ with videogames" than /v/. /v/ used to be good in 2005-2006. Then /b/-rejects started to leak into it. At least /vg/ hasn't gotten to that point and you can actually discuss games there.

Tumblr In Action fell apart a while back because it became too consumed with picking apart the lives of what are, generally, teenagers. Like yeah the logic and stupidity of 16 year old "hardcore" SJWs is funny, but now the entire sub comes off as waaaaaaay too hateful. They're just dumb kids. Hilarious to watch, but harmless. Over time the sub gained a borderline anti-feminist in all incarnations tinge to it that rubs me the wrong way. Increasingly reasonable stuff is being thrown up and actually up voted.
