The part I don't get is gamers hating weed!!!!
It's like a lesbian who hates strap ons!!!
A lot of gamers are super pent up people. The same guys that are afraid to talk to women, afraid to speak out at work, afraid to move to a new city, afraid to go to a movie alone, afraid to hit up a restaurant in a worse part of town, afraid to travel in South America...I think afraid might be the wrong way to term it. It's the outright, adamant refusal to do those things.
Like, there's a big difference between rational fear (I am swimming in shark infested waters off the coast of Africa) and irrational fear (weed is going to make me someone different entirely). And within that, there is a big difference between reacting to rational fear appropriately and inappropriately. You spend your entire life reacting inappropriately by writing off the experience altogether and eventually you wake up 30 years old without having done a whole lot.
As I said before, none of this shit is essential to life and nobody should think it's necessary. Explore your comfort zone at your discretion, be happy, and don't worry about what other people think if you're a decent human being. But at a certain level it definitely makes you boring as fuck and ill equipped in adult conversation when you consistently avoid new experiences. You know when you talk to someone and everything circles back to two or three different topics against the flow of conversation? Hours and hours of conversation and you're stuck going back to those same familiar areas. It's because they don't know anything else. And it's sad but more importantly to me at that moment, it's fucking annoying and boring to deal with.
Don't know what's worse, people who steadfastly refuse to move outside of their comfort zone and only know games and anime, or people who live their lives to collect experiences without actually taking anything away from them aside from a story to tell. They're neck and neck.
