I've had some success with it at mid range, but you have to tap fire and pick away at the person. I am starting to experiment with other weapons now. At close range the AEK-971 chews through people like a tommygun in a 1930s gangster movie. Also played around with Recon class, am no good with the sniper rifle but got some decent points just by laser targeting vehicles and spotting.

I've been working on LMG's. Stability is ass, but with 200 rounds before I have to reload I can spray and pray and kill their whole damn squad.

I get a crash every once in a while (got 2 in a 7 hour stretch Sunday), but it's pretty damn stable. I still run into some hit detection issues that frustrate the fuck out of me but it's definitely playable. Xbox One and Xbox 360 here.

I don't know what i'm doing, but I bought this on PS4 today... I think the $20 price point pushed me over the edge. So now I have this on Xbox one, PC, and PS4.... I've put in a lot more time on PC though.

Didn't mean to imply I was spraying and praying. There are just times that the hit detection is complete crap. Oh well. Sometimes it works out in my benefit too.

LMG's are not the only guns this happens with.

The hit detection is all over the place. But yeah generally speaking LMG's are much harder to use than assault rifles or carbines.

One minor thing I would like to see fixed/reverted back is how M-Com's were handled at the end of a game in Battlefield 3.

Let me explain.

Here's how it works in Battlefield 4. If there are 2 MCOMs remaining if one is armed and the tickets run out the game automatically ends

Here is how it worked in Battlefield 3.

In that exact same situation as above the game would not end until the MCOM was defused/destroyed. So essentially you could set one M-com. Then go arm the other M-Com even if you were at zero tickets because the team needs to defuse that bomb. It sounds minor but it made Rush really exciting and epic like you were in Over-time or something.

I played a close game of Rush yesterday that ended like that... the second MCOM was about to blow and the game ended due to tickets. Not too exciting.

I really wish weapon attachment unlocking wasn't such a grind... or at least not forced into a predetermined order. It's a big disincentive to trying out new weapons when you're forced to lose your favorite site and whatever advantage your chosen grip might give you.

Yeah I hate going back to a gun with no attachments. But I do get a thrill every time I unlock new sights, grips, etc for my new weapon. I guess it's made that way for idiots like me.

It's definitely a good feeling. Maybe if you could just pick which attachment type you get at each unlock point I'd be happier. For instance, I'd really like to try a DMR with a RDS or Holo site. But it looks like I have to get 50 kills with one first! Then if I decide I like the site, I'll have to get 50 kills with the next DMR I try to truly compare them.

It does look like I'm only a few kills away with the first DMR to having one to try on it, but again this would pull me away from spending more time with other DMRs that I'm thinking I might ultimately like more.

LMGs are another gun type where the rigid unlock order can be pretty frustrating. Some LMGs handle very differently from others but they're all treated the same.

One other thing... I find myself really annoyed by how often I'll end up in a squad without the leader giving squad orders. It's not hard to point at whatever objective you want to to hit and press "Q" so I'm assuming some people aren't even aware of them. Everyone gets more points when they're in use so they're a win all around.

Three possible ways to improve this:
1) have the squad leader position switch automatically during a map if the leader isn't using orders.
2) if there's a commander present and the squad leader isn't giving orders, let the commander's orders go through to the squad as their orders
3) nag ineffective squad leaders with on-screen tips

Looks like right bumper is spot/squad order on Xbox. Spots are super helpful too if you haven't been using those and another form of easy XP.

This would have fixed the unlock system. Instead it turns into the worse possible of grinds.

I was in a couple of games just now where I guess DICE's servers were fucked and none of the unlocks were available, just starting weapons. I've been thinking all this time that I'm a fairly mediocre player, but I did really well in these matches, top 3 in my team. I guess all things even I can hold my own after all. Whenever server rentals and unranked servers are available (if ever) I think I'll spend some time playing on those in custom, starting loadout only matches.

also did everyone get the BF veteran battlepack today? it had some good stuff in it...very happy with DICE after today, although I primarily play Dom on 360 which has no problems like the other platforms and gametypes have, so my outlook is skewed

Metro is and always has been a big meat grinder. If you control B, you control the win. I like being able to set up and defend a choke point, and also trying to fight back against a choke point being held down. One really cool thing they did in 2014 is that the elevators at B actually work now, so it's harder to keep locked down, since there are more ways to get up and around. There are four or five ways past the choke point at B now, and if you have a good enough group, it isn't too hard to rush past the fight and backcap a point to have your team spawn and flank the other team.

ha, no I'm not a premium member. If I had my gaming pc all put together I would have gotten it for that, but I'm not gonna drop for premium on a downgraded copy, both graphically and lobby size wise. still having tons of fun though, don't get me wrong, Domination is great and I've even had some epic games of Conquest with 32 players.
