Some of the ultimate weapons aren't the difficult to get, but I know I won't have the patience to fight any dark espers. I'll probably just unlock the blitzball mode and focus on that.
there is a very easy way to power level,you purposely nerf one of your character until his stat sucks ball,then you give the 2 characters you want to level up the limit bar that increase depending on how much damage your comrade receive,and the skills that turn the limit bar into experience points,then you go fight some of the souped up monster (like the king tonberry) and *BAM* you do like 5 level each fight
the real pain in the ass is min-maxing your stat,this involve catching 10 of every monster and re-fighting a shitload of numbers the optional bosses so that they drop the min-max items
Honestly only powering up Yuna's celestial weapon is easy. I didn't bother with the other shit. I got their weapons but didn't power them. Chocobo crap was terrible and dodging lighting? Not doing that in 2002, not doing it in 2013.
blitzball is easy once you get the hang out of it (although if anything a little repetitive),so powering up wakka is not that hard,that's not to mention that wakka has one of the few limit break that hit multiple times which makes him perfect for optional bosses
and yes,i did the thunder,i did the chocobo,i couldn't do the butterflies
