What do you want Eidos to make next?
« on: March 19, 2013, 03:25:39 PM »
Eidos has been on a hell of a run lately and I fell back in love with them because of it. So as I keep playing their awesome games I can't help but be excited for what they got in store. We all know about the upcoming awesomeness that is Thief, so what do you hope to see brought back next?

I really, really want to see a new Legacy Of Kain on next gen consoles. Preferably a new Blood Omen. I'm down for whatever they come up with next regardless, but a return to one of my favorite franchises would have me supporting a chubby of anticipation all up until I buy it and cream right there for all lovelorn nerds to see.

Give them one of Square's IPs to work on. The only Eidos franchise I really care about is Thief.

Yeah, my answer before opening the thread was 'make the Square branch of the company not shit again'. Give them FF :teehee

something new, I guess.

Just Cause 3 is almost pretty assuredly happening.  That'd be my vote, but why bother.

I'd say Time Spitters, but I don't think Eidos controls the IP.  Free Radical is part of Crytek (UK?) and recently there was a story about a Crytek approved fan made Time Splitters game.

I'd say Soul Reaver, but between Crystal Dynamics on Tomb Raider and other talents that left, who knows how it'll turn out.  Actually, a new Soul Reaver might've been a rumor from last year.

Next Hitman game is supposedly coming from Square Enix Montreal (not the same as Eidos Montreal), so IO is freed up to make something else....like Kane and Lynch 3.

All I remember about Fear Effect were those "LESBIANS!" advertisements.

Gex could be great if they went all out with it.  By process of elimination, I choose Gex.

Revitalizing Fighting Force as the co-op beat 'em up as the original was (and supposed to have been stay that way) gets my vote as well.
Yay I love making my wishes known onto random isolated corners on the internet.

Which Legacy of Kain was the 2D one? That was kinda neat like 15 years ago.

One of the reasons I made this thread is to get you to mention some thing about LoK. It worked, but still  :(

Where was it being developed? AFAIK no-one at Crystal Dynamics was even aware of it...

why on earth did my first thought go to Kane and Lynch 3?
I'd guess I'd like that, even though the games that do exist are honestly kinda disappointing, but the highs are so very high.

oh, and a sequel/revival of Urban Chaos, not the PS1/DC one, the PS2/Xbox one, the fps where you're basically Judge Dredd in the present.  That game ruled.

Literally all I can say is something was being developed, that something has been largely canned, and the only part of it that might see the light of day is connected to that domain registry people picked up on a few weeks back.

Naming the developer would be naughty in this case.  Sorry.

NP, thanks for even limited clarification. I was feeling really out of the loop. Less so now, somehow.
