It's not bad. I just feel like not enough completely random, weird shit happens. Every run kinda feels the same.

Yeah, once you've played it a few times, the first few floors feel like "meh". It was still pretty fun, though. What level were you guys playing on? I was doing Normal, made it up to about Floor 12.

Damn son, how diseased did you get? I've gotta like a Lv. 3 disease but it went away pretty fast and it didn't really do much damage. Maybe it's worse if you get diseased early on and you have less health? Then again, I may have had a few health kits then, I don't remember.

I don't know what happened exactly, but whatever disease I got kept getting progressively worse [really, really fast] until I just automatically died.

Hey I already made a thread!

It's not bad. I just feel like not enough completely random, weird shit happens. Every run kinda feels the same.

Have you seen a Von Neumann Probe yet? You can't get more random than that

It's disintegration beam has a 1 in (sum of your inventory items) chance of randomly one shotting you.

Some of the door traps are interesting (randomly destroy/recharge items) as well.

Yeah, once you've played it a few times, the first few floors feel like "meh". It was still pretty fun, though. What level were you guys playing on? I was doing Normal, made it up to about Floor 12.

Are you guys using the Marine? He's pretty OP right now. Engineer is a good mix of fear and awesomeness, plus he's the only way you'll get the recipies you need to survive on harder levels. I tried to go harder levels but it's just brutally difficult without being able to craft stuff. Normal starts to ramp up about floor 8-9. I think the weakest point of the game is the mapping, it's very repetitive.

Been watching some streams on twitch (lethalfrag or Tornis) playing it at lower floors (15+) and there's some crazy stuff going on. I've been streaming my runs too, very much enjoying it

Loving this game. The way the recipes carry over from run to run puts a sort of persistence into the game. Even a "bad" run is salvaged if you get a few decent decrypts and a half recipe or more.

I kinda don't like the recipes. I feel like it's encouraging me to grind the easy difficulties so I can have a good set of crafting recipes before I try the harder ones. I dunno. I think a good roguelike is self-contained in each run. Like Bejeweled for fucking nerds.

Game's definitely fun though. I just like to complain.

Main game is still like $2, and the gold version can be had for less than $10. The amount of hours you'll get out of it is well worth it.
