when you get to be an old man it's a lot more fun just watching and laughing at all the nutty people
The thing with E3 is that the excitement wears off after about a day. The convention center's huge, but you could pretty much check out everything there in a few hours. I've went several times and I've felt pretty much the same way each time, with the possible exception of 2006, that was pretty rad.
Having said that, if you're able to go, I say you should go for it. It's a pretty cool experience, and lots of networking opportunities (if you're into that sort of stuff). Of course, don't actually pay for a badge. Fuck those prices.
