I had my hands on the Wii U for the first time today

-the analog sticks are nice
-the controller is huuuuuuuuge
-the screen is shitty, lol crappy low quality LCD, looks like a cheap rip-off handheld compared to the OLED screen of the glorious Sony Playstation Vita™
-Played mario. It's Mario man. He runs and jumps and collects coins. Still has shitty slow controls compared to everything pre N64 2D Mario.

oh yeah forgot to mention that, I pressed the Home button out of curiousity and saw an OS that reminded me very much of the cheap toy-ish Wii OS interface.

The Miiverse is actually quite interesting, but they need to reduce load times with 90%. I'm not even exaggerating. Entering and exiting the settings menu takes a minute.

I always figured that the load times were intentional because there is no way nothing made in 2012, even with Nintendo's penchant for shitty backwards tech, would have load times that long unless it was on purpose.

YEAH, wasn't one of their reasons to not go to discs avoiding load times, and a big bragging point with the GC was little to no loading screenage/time ever? Makes the Wii U even more baffling and quite inconsistent with previous design philosophies of theirs.
