I don't know. Is the touchscreen sensitive enough for pixel hunting?

It wouldn't be good for stuff like Monkey Island, but modern clicky-games like Walking Dead and Virtue's Last Reward are fine.

It worked on the DS. Granted, you had a stylus, but even then the adventure games I've played on it could highlight every interactive object with a big bubble or what have you. I imagine the Vita screen is big enough for that.

Monkey Island was playable on CFW PSPs using the d-pad and nub alone.  But I re-played through it on DS because of the stylus.

With the D-pad/nub, you'd actually have more accuracy though. I'm not saying you can't do it, just that it's less optimal. If there's only a couple of things to click on in each screen, it's gonna work a lot better.

There's more reasons to want a Vita than a Wii U, but honestly that just means there's more than 'none'.

Maybe you'll get some indie game ports. More than likely though they'll be on PC or smartphones first.

PC is getting plenty of awesome adventure games these days. You just have to look at some of the smaller publishers like Wadjet Eye Games and Amanita Design.
