Same with most other handheld RPGs. Buying it and letting it sit in my backlog for 6 years.

I preordered two limited edition copies: one for myself and one to remain unsealed so I can sell it a few years later for a mint

I like the Devil Survivor series, both DS1 and DS2 were good games imo. Demi are you going to try the Devil Survivor 2 3DS remake?

I got excited too, and then realized that 3DS are region-locked, unlike every other Nintendo handheld. US games won't work on my kids' 3DSsen.

I've played Devil Survivor 2 Overclocked. What distinguishes the games from that series, in terms of gameplay, presentation, and content, from Soul Hackers, aside from the fact that one's a sRPG and the other is not? Do you still have to buy, train, and fuse demons?

Yes, that is the basis of this series. This one plays like EO, Devil Survivor is a SRPG style game.

So it's a SMT game that plays like EO. I adored Strange Journey, which was kind of just that. Is Devil Surivor the same sort of game?

Devil Survivor is a tactical RPG.

If you liked Strange Journey - pick this up.

Devil Survivor is a grid-based SRPG. You have a team of humans, but each human has a team of 3 monsters (plus the human) they use to fight with, and it includes the usual "auction house" where you can fuse, buy, and raise your demons to be OP as fuark.

It doesnt follow the "Law / Neutral / Chaotic" routes of SMT, but you go down a specific person's path instead (in this case there's like 6 or so paths) -- Overclocked includes bonus content for certain routes.
