Even the art isn't that great. The main chicks character design looks stupid. What made the first Drakengard good is the overall "this isn't your typical anime crap, this is crazy" thing it had going on. The story was dark and not like your typical animu, the hero was kind of bad, and hell the character designs were not that extravagant.

But the weeboos are eating this up.

I hope this is good. I mean it still could be, but this isn't encouraging.

The chicks look like that hermaphrodite from Nier but worse.

Drakengard 1 was Berserk with a dragon sidekick instead of a fucking fairy.

Of course. I was praising it. :)

I still liked 2 BTW because I wanted to see what happened to Caim and his dragon. I cried manly tears at that CG FMV.

Which part? The air/sea battles or the find every weapon in some distinguished mentally-challenged looking maze to unlock the hidden extra ending which was a bigger insult?

In any case, I apologize.

I liked 2 enough. Better gameplay, but I just remember it taking forever to get going and the story not being as interesting. It was "touching" to see the after effects of 1. Still, most of the characters were lame compared to those in 1.

I love that they are releasing such ratty looking screenshots. It shows how little they actually care about what graphics obsessed people think.

I'm actually glad those graphics look very old school, it shows they aren't catering to the "graphics above all" crowd.

Yeah, it shows that they aren't catering to the graphics crowd. Nope, it shows they are catering to the "I love Nippon" crowd.

But this is stupid. It's like, no we should have some graphical standards. There's no reason this game should look really bad. Fine, they don't have a big budget. Do they have a smaller budget then the Grasshopper shlock that comes out? I mean Killer is Dead looks awesome, NMH2 looked awesome and well that's because they tried some cool stylish shit. Could the Drakengard 3 team not attempt that?

But it's not even just that. It's the "oh we aren't the graphics loving crowd" as if anyone who says something bad about these graphics must be some graphics whore. It's so dumb. I mean I chose to only  play console games. I look at stuff like Anarchy Reigns and I'm like "this looks pretty good". No, I'm not a graphics whore, I just would like my games to look up to some sort of standard. Look like they came out this gen.

more screens:

I think it looks great and I respect their art style.   I just hope these bad graphics don't mean stable 60fps.  The old days didn't look like a soap opera in motion.  Medieval times were more like an unstable 20fps with tearing.

According to Dengeki, the Apostles serve the role of… satiating Zero’s sexual desires. She can also take along two of them to help out on the battlefield.

Here are details surrounding some of Drakengard 3’s Apostles:

Deto

A beautiful young man with a contradictory brutal personality. He has sharp insights, but also a sadistic nature, as he feels joy when deeply injuring opponents and hearing them scream in pain when tormented.

Decartes

A middle-aged brawny man with glasses who fights with his fists. He secretly considers his pains and adversities to be some sort of rewarding trial that he enjoys in a masochistic manner, but he still has common sense and consideration towards women.

Octa

An older man who uses special ring-like weapons. He walks around wearing a pair of amazingly tall wooden clogs. The old man is considered the best of the Apostles when it comes to sexual activities, an abnormality for his age that he is proud for.

Cento

Cento is a young man with a cross-shaped scar across his stomach. Cento’s weapon of choice are dual blades. He’s a handsome man who has nothing but absolute confidence in himself, but he often makes the mistake of announcing his knowledge, which might seem cocky to others.

i haven't played it myself but i'll let his sanctity the dark id speak

Quote
Jun Iwasaki, president and chief executive officer of Square-Enix USA, described Drakengard as a "perfect hybrid of genres" due to its blend of action, character growth influenced by role-playing games, and a "solid story that binds it all together". According to him, the game is intended to appeal to gamers looking for a "deeper action game".

Jun Iwasaki is a fucking idiot. Drakengard is a terrible game -- absolutely awful. It isn't fun. At all. There is no fun to be found here. Look elsewhere for fun. It is a muddy hybrid of a half-assed Dynasty Warriors clone meets a poor man's knock off of Panzer Dragoon coupled with an unbearably dull grind fest.

So, why should you care? I'll tell you why. Drakengard is a product of the Enix half of Square-Enix (it was developed prior to the merger). However, the actual development was farmed out to a little company called "Cavia Inc." Cavia is a little development sweatshop which Enix, Capcom, and assorted anime license holders throw games to for a quick buck. Capcom, in particular, commissioned a game which is near and dear to my heart:

Resident Evil: Dead Aim

Those familiar with that particular spin-off title ought to know of the depths of we are diving to. For those unprepared...strap in...
