I dont think its Mancinis fault either, and I agree its unrealistic to expect a team to win so much. Im just happy that a buyers club failed after putting so much money into the game.
A buyers club? C'mon son. Every team at the top buys success. It's the nature of the game. City have less academy players than say, United, because they didn't have the means to invest in their youth set-up until recently. Still, look at United. Old hands Scholes and Giggs aside, how many of the first teamers are from their academy? Welbeck, Cleverley and Evans are the only ones I can think of. City have Richards and Hart.
Also, clubs who invest in their youth set-ups don't do so out of altruism or because it's "the right way of doing things". They do it because it's a good investment. Football is a business, and calling out one team over another is a bit sad.
As far as Mancini is concerned, I think they're making a big mistake. Fantastic manager.
