MP is getting absolutely shredded by a lot of the fan base. The backlash is worst than I thought it would be.

My unhealthily obsessed with COD mate is whining about the MP being to camper friendly and keep saying he shouldn't have pre-ordered the game, he should have learned his lesson with MW3.

Typically there is a honeymoon period with any COD game where everybody is excited about the new stuff. The complaints and disgruntlement don't tend to come until later. Even MW 3 which I thought was terrible went through this phase. But this game has jumped ahead faster to the complaining stage than any COD I've seen.

I've not played multi yet but campaign has been fun enough...

There's a cracking flashback level in which a dam is blown in Caracas and the city floods, I didn't get any screens but it looks a lot better than anything in BO2. There's a great looking level that flips between copters and troops on some kind of oil rig / refinery too.

It seems cool to hate on COD these days, and TBH I'd welcome some FPS fatigue in this industry, but it seems no worse than others to me. No worse than I expected. Its the equivalent of popcorn movies. And quite fun for it.

Wait, did they release a Vita version?

Extinction is pretty good. Almost prefer it more than Zombies. The loadout/class aspect is good, and leveling up to unlock stuff means you can progress further in the map (you aren't beating the map the first time you play it).

It's Elpres but you can tell for once he isn't trolling.

Can I install disc 1? Or is this like GTAVwhere they say yo shouldnt do that

You can install GTAV disc1; they just suggest that you use a different storage device. I've got disc1 installed to a USB memory unit, and the disc2 content is all on the HDD. Works swell.

The game has a pretty cool cliffhanger and it loves set pieces that involve you running through things exploding. Thats like all of them.

I don't especially like him either. And agree about the racist/homophobic stuff. When I post him its more an example of expressing internet rage of the dumb masses.

I stopped watching Elpres videos a few years back, what sort of racist shit does he say?

It's all trolling. But it functions the same way. He got all up in the Trayvon Martin stuff or whenever any "race" issue comes up he's always on the predictable side. He says dumb shit and while half of it is probably trolling just for views, its not really cool either way.

And that's along side the typical cigarillo/taco stuff he's constantly dishing out.

It's very tough to do spawning right in a COD game. The maps are so small and everybody is rushing all over the place that invariably you will get the occasional bad spawn. Especially in a small map and especially in a mode like TDM.

It's why I migrated over to the objective modes in cod over the years because the spawns tend to be a little better there because the teams tend to group in the same areas so the spawns are a little more consistent.

watching an elpres vid where he's playing kill confirmed and this game looks like a joke.  your screen bobs so much when you move around it looks like your character is a velociraptor.  cheap, awkward looking enemy models, it looks like your battling 14 year old airsoft kids.  constant interruptions by a corny grizzly voice.  everything just looks cheap and hollow.

Being angry means you're hardcore and a regular joe and on our side. I think that is what it is supposed to be convey.

AVGN works because its an absurd thing. He's "angry" about 2600,nes and snes games. So its funny because its so inconsequential.

But yeah dudes who are "angry" about current events either in videogames or the regular world generally are either idiots or pandering or some combination of the two.

El Pres schtick is that COD in general sucks but I play it and post about it and rage about it because it makes me money. Which is fine. Occasionally his real views peep through in some videos like that COD ghosts one but as something to watch or follow on a regular basis he's certainly not worth it.

Angry Joe certainly comes off like that. He makes some good point from what I've seen (Fable 3 is a stand-out), but he really hams it up to the point where he looks like he's about to start laughing.

So I tried the multiplayer because it was free this weekend on xbox live.

And surprise, surprise, it sucks.

My honest initial first impression was that it wasn't as bad as I expecting. But the more I played the more I disliked.

The movement feels janky and heavy and deliberate. Not what I want in a COD game especially since Black Ops 2 nailed that aspect. The time to kill is a joke. There is no such thing as a gun fight in this game. You see some one first and they die. This is always a delicate thing to get right in a fast paced game like COD but they failed miserably here. It makes the whole gun play experience feel unsatisfying and promotes rampant camping.

The guns all felt the same to me. Maybe they fixed the spawning because I didn't think it was as bad as I had been lead to believe but the whole experience is just so drab and unoriginal and tired at this point. You can only beat this dead horse for so long I guess especially after playing Titanfall.

The extinction mode seemed interesting enough if you are into that sort of thing.
