Quarters are the best denomination so let's standardize on that. It's annoying to have other less useful forms of cash. Smaller coins are obviously pointless; bills are frustrating when you want to do laundry or obtain some service that doesn't provide change (like the bus), plus they're flimsy and awkward, and for larger amounts of money who wants to mess around with cash anyway.

And if they made them out of gold, our money would never lose value.

I've heard that it's best to carry some cash so if you get mugged you'll have enough to pacify your tweaked-out assailant, and it would be awkward carrying around a few rolls of quarters for self-preservation.

I think Canada has it right by having $1 designated with a coin instead of a bill.  I'd like to see any bill below $20 changed to coin form.

the fuck? getting 1 and 2 euro coins back after paying with a 20 was the absolute worst. i always eneded up treating it like milk money.

1 and 2 EUR coins are pretty useful. It's the copper stuff, the 1, 2 (!) and 5 cent coins, that are annoying and fatten your wallet to uncomfortable sizes in no time.

You could throw them. That's gotta hurt.
