To me it is funny how developers are trying to find alternative control methods to craft new game types then I remember games like Ape Escape and Ore no Ryouri. Games that had unique controls in a time when it was the wild west of just figuring out what the hell to do with that second stick. It is hilarious they're seeking out all these outlandish things to find new ways to control when they already have the means to achieve this with the dual stick set up.

Same. I remember being at a convention thing for a week with a youth group when LoD came out. I was going to buy it as soon as I got home. When I did get home I read the GIA review and just saved my money for FFIX.

am now playing Japanese Symphony of the Night (for the first time!) may try Japanese Alundra next. no Working Designs balancing~
Wait, I need to know more about this. Did they actually make it harder?

US version, bosses have like 5x more HP and your sword hits for half damage, I think? It was made BRUTALLY harder, or at least sloggier.

:wag i hate WD rebalancing as much as the next guy but iirc WD gave to bosses LESS hp and MORE atk because they said the originals were easy slogs

To be fair, DMC3 US still used the difficulty of the jp version iirc. It's just that normal mode is japan hard mode, and easy is japan normal.

Haha, honestly, that was only bad for when you were fighting Agni and Rudra. That fight was ridiculous because if you died you'd have to go back like the beginning of the chapter. But I persevered. Because unlike Dark Souls, DMC3 isn't a tedious slog. :biden

-Internal Section-
Hires mode
60fps
Create levels from audio CDs
Still looks damned good today, especially on a PSP/Vita/PS3

Unfortunately - this is a capture of the first level which is a bit straight forward and doesn't show the full demo-scene style graphic crazy of the game.

poor quality but yeah, gives some idea of how it ends up :

And the obligatory looooooooooooooooooooooooooooool intro from Gaiaseed :

I posted Internet Section earlier, DCharlie. Fantastic game. Found it at a Chinatown in Houston and used the pin trick to play it. Back then there were a LOT of import shops I could go to easily. Don't have that anymore. I just picked it up due to the Squaresoft logo and was pleasantly surprised. One of my better pick ups. :obama

Is the psp version still fucked in terms of balance or should I get the psx version? Hate that a lot of these import titles I want are probably all rare and expensive.

I have it on PS1 and PSP...get it on PS1.  There is a DS release, too.  I don't know much about that, but maybe that's a better option (read up on it or someone here might know more).

The 3DS game is supposed to be all new and I'm trying not to get excited about it 'cause region lock and all.

Not a psx exclusive but I can't separate this and Jumping Flash from early psx.

I remember thinking the name was dumb and was mistrustful of it at first due to Jaguar and 3DO. Then I went to Circuit City one time in 96 or so and played some Ghost in the Shell, Jumping Flash and ESPN. Came away mighty impressed. When Tomb Raider and Crash came out I wanted one even more.

I'm still amazed at what Sony did with that system. I mean we had two companies synonymous with gaming, Sega and Nintendo. And Sony entered the fray and just ate them up - worldwide. N64 and Saturn weren't even bad systems. Psx was just getting.g the right stuff at the right time and any other variable could have made a.completely different outcome

Amazing generation in general.

I was a huge Nintard during this era and missed out on the PSX entirely.  I wound up playing Crash Team Racing, FF7, FF8, and FFT on my PS2 years later because I got all four for $10 off a friend.  I was hoping that I would play some of the classics on my Vita if I ever get the time to do that.

PS1 is one of my fave systems ever... so good. The RPGs were to die for. Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden 2, and motherfucking Star Oean 2 and Arc the Lad 2....

fuck the new systems, PS1 was the best. I love all the shitty 3D games with the awkward controls in the games. But the RPGs are where the system really stands out... Star Ocean 2, you can pickpocket your party members, hwo good is that?

Fuck  I am so drunk. But seriously, I lvoe the PS1. Second favorite system behind the SNES, truly the golden age of gaming. The reason why it was so good is because the dev. costs were so cheap, so you got a lot of random JP companies releasing random shit on it, that had SOUL. Unlike most modern games. Check this out:

(I only realyl play JP games, last westenr game I played was 50 Cent: Bulletproof, which was a good game. What is your favorite western game, folks?)
