She went to prison for loan fraud.

Her real name is Amanda Patricia Bossingham.

The court ordered her to pay $36,294.95 in restitution. Ms. Bossingham plead guilty to submitting an application for a line of credit with M & I Bank using the social security number of another person. The Bank approved the line of credit in the amount of $15,000.

On June 15, 2004, the Court sentenced her to fourteen months prison. (she appealed, but eventually lost, reported to prison in Oct, 7, 2008)

Stories like this only make me more appreciative of places like Olive Garden. Local places can be nice, but you never know when you might walk into a place like this. Whereas when I walk into Olive Garden I know exactly what the food will taste like, what the servers will be wearing, and that the service will be top notch (worth of a 25% tip).

The reason Ramsey backed out for the first time EVER in his series is he realized something shady was going on there and didn't want to be funding a money laundering operation. Even them skimming tips is illegal.

yeah, that's the only possible explanation.   ::)

It had nothing to do with that woman being 100% bonkers to the point where he couldn't help if he wanted to.  prime example of not being able to help who don't want to help themselves, like he said.  The tip thing is illegal though, unless they know of some weird loop hole.

All she cared about were the HATERS ON THE INTERNETS. She didn't care about fixing the place or food at all. All she talked to Ramsey about were the haters online bashing her cooking. They went on the show in a stupid attempt to make their front look good.

That...was an amazing TV show.  Never seen one of these chefs not even get to begin to even try helping someone before.  Both of them are crazy.  There's no stupid conspiracy shit going on there...they're just fucking crazy.  The guy has some money and is clearly spoiling his bitch of a wife.  Shit needs to be done about him taking all the tips- how does ANYONE last there for more than a few days?  Hell, how is that place still even open?  :spin

I think that money laundering stuff might be true. How else does a shitty restaurant stay afloat like this?  :what

the husband is like 20 years older than her, rich from real estate dev, and clearly trying not to piss her off. she probably threatens to leave all the time.  he's got his blonde american princess...uh, sort of   :lol   But if they suddenly got busted up for laundering or some other shady practice that wouldn't be a surprise.

The cats thing might shed some light on her insanity/insecurity.  maybe she can't have kids and is really fucked up from it

He's not entirely wrong. Many of these places sign up with the intention that perhaps they will get publicity. I believe as well that Amy thought this would get "the haters" to be wrong. But of course the show shed light that this clearly was not the case.

Here is one example:
