They said "late" 40s. Hayter is 44, just before mid-40s. Kiefer is 46, past "mid" and thus on the cusp of "late."

That reaction is best part. They announce Kiefer as Snake, Hayter says he's not playing Snake, the Japanese VA is reprising the role, and yet it's seen as an elaborate ruse because of that telltale Metal Gear dumbness.

I don't care about Hayter in the game, but I want it to be a trick, just because.
